Ringmer is considered to be one of the largest villages in East Sussex.  A village with a great sense of community and plenty to offer for those who want to take part, yet peaceful enough to enjoy the more rural surrounding for those that prefer the quieter village lifestyle.

Located in the heart of the village is a parade of well serviced, mostly independent shops, including a popular butchers, a Café, a bakery and the Morrisons Local houses the Post Office. The village also offers a coffee shop, hairdressers, dentist, modern health centre and a pharmacy.

The village is flanked by South Downs National Park. There are beautiful and iconic walks all around and at the highest point, between Ringmer and Glynde there are magnificent far reaching views to the River Ouse, the Ashdown Forest and across Lewes.

Ringmer hosts a plethora of sports and activity clubs catering for all ages including a football team, stoolball, cricket, bowls, croquet. More leisurely pursuits and clubs are held at the village hall, everything from amateur dramatics, to yoga or even the local history club. Nearby Lewes offers further options including golf, rugby, tennis, swimming, cycling and athletics to name a few.

The Anchor Inn and The Green Man public houses are popular choices within the village, with The Cock Inn located on the outskirts, with all three offering dining and traditional pub gardens to be enjoyed in fairer weather.

Ringmer boasts both Primary and Secondary Schools. Minibus services are also provided by Bedes and Lewes Old Grammar School.

There are regular and direct public bus services from the village with services to Lewes, Brighton, Uckfield, Tunbridge Wells, and Eastbourne, these all provide routes to higher education and shopping facilities.

The Village Green is home to a number of the sports clubs and features a wildlife pond and children’s recreation ground. A modern skate park and updated children’s play area can be found to the North of the village at Fingerpost Field.

Lewes is just a stones throw away and easily accessible by car, bus, cycle or walking along a designated cycle path situated at the foot of the South Downs. Further afield but still within easy access is the city of Brighton which can be reached after a short drive along the A27 (approximately 15 minutes)
